IPL – Rejuvenate and Reduce

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a non-invasive treatment that uses flashes of broad-spectrum light to target various skin concerns or unwanted hair. The light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by pigment, blood vessels, or the hair follicle—depending on the condition being treated. The heat generated by the light helps to destroy hair follicles, break down pigmentation, or stimulate collagen production, leaving your skin clearer, smoother, and more even-toned.

Most clients describe IPL as a quick, mild snapping sensation—like the flick of a rubber band against the skin. Some areas may feel more sensitive, but overall, it’s very tolerable. Our machine is designed for comfort with a built in cooling systems delivering safe, effective results with minimal discomfort.

The number of sessions varies depending on your goals:

• Hair removal: Typically 6–10 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart
• Pigmentation/vascular/acne: Often 3–6 treatments, spaced 3–4 weeks apart

You may notice improvements after your first session, especially with pigmentation and redness. For hair removal, reduction becomes more visible after a few sessions as hair grows back finer and less frequently. Best results develop over a full course of treatments.

There’s little to no downtime. You may experience some mild redness, warmth, or swelling in the treated area, which usually settles within a few hours. You can return to your normal routine, but we recommend avoiding vigorous exercise, sun exposure, heat and active skincare for at least 48 hours.

IPL is most effective on lighter skin tones with darker hair or pigment. For darker skin tones or tanned skin, treatment must be carefully assessed as there is a higher risk of unwanted pigment changes. Your therapist will guide you during your consultation to ensure safe, effective treatment.

IPL can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, back, hands, arms, legs, underarms, bikini area, and more. We also offer IPL for men and can customise treatment areas to suit your needs.

No, IPL is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, due to hormonal changes and safety precautions. We’ll happily suggest suitable alternatives during this time.

Before:

• Avoid sun exposure and tanning for 2–4 weeks
• Don’t wax, pluck, or bleach hair (for hair removal)
• Discontinue retinol or active skincare 3–5 days before treatment

After:

• Apply SPF daily and avoid direct sun
• Skip heat-based activities (hot showers, saunas, exercise) for 24–48 hours
• Avoid exfoliation or active products for a few days
• Keep skin cool, calm, and hydrated
